The Organizational Development (OD) workshop was held from 5th-6th November, 2006 at Koti, Simla. The idea behind organizing the workshop in Simla was to not only evaluate the SARD programmes but also facilitate interaction between the staff members and stakeholders of various field offices. A key point in this OD workshop was that the presentations were not focused on a particular field area but different issues which concern SARD for instance, Effective teaching learning practices, Integrated holistic Development and Community empowerment, Development of effective tools for monitoring the programme, Process documentation, Multiple dimensions of HIV/AIDS awareness- community and workplace initiative, Accounting procedure, book keeping & Audit issues, Fund Raising – at various level etc. This proved to be quite useful as the staff in stead of addressing only their achievements, tried to focus more on the broader subject. The subjects for the sessions were very comprehensive; the presentations made by the panelists were quite informative. The views expressed were lucid and well reasoned.
The SARD Utsav was enjoyed by one and all with its energetic dance performances, melodious songs and inspiring speeches. The various articles displayed in the exhibition added more colour to the already vibrant evening. The success of the event was reflected in the address of the highly impressed chief guest.
The participants really enjoyed the luxurious stay at the Koti Resort and relished the hospitality of the hotel staff, not to forget the delicious food provided by them. The beautiful surroundings and the pleasant climate made the trip even more enjoyable.
Thus overall the OD workshop proved to be a very valuable exercise. Not only did it achieve its objectives of appraising various programmes of SARD and generating new ideas for future endeavours but also ensured that all the staff members coming from different field offices became aware of programmes going on in other areas. Thus it helped in awareness building of the staff.
Thus, the organizational development workshop’ 06 was a great success.
