life skills workshop
|
This year SARD planned to introduce a training programme for Government and SARD teachers on Life Skills. The objective was to inculcate knowledge, skills and motivation among the children enrolled in our learning centres and government schools to achieve their personal best in life through daily interaction with teachers.
On 24th – 25th November, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra conducted a workshop for the various representatives from MCD schools and SARD field offices.
Ms. Rashmi conducted the session beautifully and never let the workshop become boring.
She explained the ten core skills and their dimensions.
|
- Interpersonal Relationships
- Effective Communication Skills
- Critical Thinking
- Creative Thinking
- Decision Making
|
- Problem Solving
- Coping with Stress
- Dealing with Emotions
- Gender Sensitization
- Prevention of Substance Abuse
|
|
She explained all these through the means of very interesting activities like role play, the trust game, expression of emotions through facial expression etc, which were able to sustain the interest of all the participants and motivated them to give their inputs. The generation of various ideas through brainstorming was also a very useful exercise. This workshop also helped in strengthening the relationship of SARD and MCD, as all the officials and headmasters expressed their willingness to participate in more such workshops and also expressed that components of life skills are very relevant to the present education system. |
