The primary objective of Pravesh Utsav is to create awareness among the community members and orient them about the admission process going on in the government schools as well as the SARD learning centres in different areas like Delhi, Deeg, Bhiwadi etc. This increased awareness in turn was expected to increase the enrolment of the children into the mainstream by spreading awareness among community people.
The SARD staff made elaborate preparations for the occasion which included formation of various materials like slogan boards and banners. The children in the community took active part ion the programme. The children enrolled in various learning centres took out prabhat pheris (rallies). This involved not only the children but also the SARD teachers, government school teachers, coordinators and associates. The children dressed up in colourful dresses and held equally colorful banners and placards to create awareness about the importance of education and need for children to attend the school. Subsequent to this there was discussion with staff members regarding the planning, delegation of role & responsibilities. This was followed by plan sharing with community stakeholders & PTC members.
There was a very positive community response to the rally. And indeed it proved very effective in drawing a number of children to the schools. Many community children were identified and mainstreamed in Government Schools & enrolled in our learning centers.
