Under the project, SARD plans to introduce two different kinds of Quality Education Centres (QECs) and libraries into the target communities. During the initial phase, consisting of the first six months, QECs will be set up on a pilot basis. Additional QECs will be setup during the project’s second phase after reviewing the experience of the pilot programme.
The pilot programme (Phase I), will gradually expose the community to a new teaching methodology. Furthermore, the pilot programme is an important step in establishing the QECs as important tools for the development and welcome additions to the community by providing residents with an opportunity to observe the standard of education at the QECs. At the same time, the initial six months will provide SARD with time to understand the community’s response to different kinds of centres and provide a basis for mid-term correctives.
This initial phase will create a kind of need among the community for opening more centers, which will make the whole exercise more fruitful. This will also ensure maximum community participation in the education program.
