To create awareness among the workforce on HIV/AIDS preventive education and care & support services, thereby reducing the vulnerability amongst the employees and improving their Quality of life.
Strategies:
Conduct a situational assessment to identify factors affecting vulnerability of the workforce to HIV/AIDS and STIs/RTI.
Create an enabling environment through sensitization of Top Management, Middle management and Trade union representatives.(Formation of Steering Committee)
Conducting Knowledge, Attitude, Behaviour & Practice survey (KABP) to get baseline information.
Training of Master Trainers. (Representatives from all dept.
who are willing to devote time and have good report with management)
Identification and developing a team of Peer Educators.
Training of Peer Educators.
Sensitization sessions for employees on HIV/AIDS
awareness by Peer Educators.
Conduct Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) interventions to reduce the vulnerability of workers and their family members to HIV/AIDS and STIs.
Establish linkages between different stakeholders to improve the referral systems for Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT), Procurement of IEC material, DOTS and care and support services.
