SARD is launching a comprehensive landmine survivor assistance program in Ferozepur District in Punjab with support from Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. This program would be the first of its kind in India and its purpose would be to to enhance the livelihood options among landmine victims and their families in Ferozepur district of Punjab as well as to reduce the number of future landmine casualties in Punjab.
Through the varied approaches such as mine risk education, artificial limb repair, vocational training, psycho-social counselling, community sensitization, livestock distribution and training on livestock management, SARD hopes to give these landmine survivors and their families the best chance possible of living life in a productive and dignified way.
