     •   Skill Development Programme for Adolescents
SARD has collaborated with Smile Foundation to address the basic vocational skills needs of disadvantaged children aged 14-18, especially girls and semi-qualified youth hailing from resettlement colonies in the South West District of Delhi. The prime objective of this programme is to equip these children with appropriate skills which will help them to survive and lead a decent life and upgrading the knowledge and skills of adolescents to prepare themselves for integrating into the labour market. The vocational training centres are imparting trainings on different trades such as making Jute handicrafts, Textile designing and printing, mobile repairing etc. Besides this the programme also provides knowledge to adolescents about development and empowerment, health and socio-economic aspects so that they can use it in right direction.

Overall Goal: Skill development of adolescent women and youth of resettlement colonies and engaging them in gainful vocations to lead a better standards of life
Objectives: • Impart vocational skills to the needy girls children of the area, which would (Lead to skill up gradation and Training in establishing business venture for individuals or group enterprises).

• Provide knowledge to adolescents about development and empowerment, health and socio-economic aspects so they can use it in right direction.

• Upgrading the knowledge and skills of adolescents to prepare themselves for integrating the labour market.

• Skill development of adolescents and provide information how to use local resources through their active participation in their own Socio-economic, cultural and spiritual development.
  To develop linkages with government departments to provide SHGs with training in rural economic activities
  To form SHGs and link them up with local bank through NABARD scheme (e.g. animal husbandry, horticulture and agriculture etc.)
  To develop linkages with government departments to provide SHGs with training in rural economic activities
Strategies: A livelihoods strategy to promote economic power through programs such as micro-credit, access to non-traditional job opportunities, school completion, and linkages to sustainable market opportunities
  A social change strategy to generate community debate and dialogue regarding social norms that reinforce gender & physical inequalities
