SARD has committed itself for the cause of those who belong to the disadvantaged sections of society. It has undertaken a mission to empower the weaker groups in the society especially the women and the children. SARD realizes that the rights of the children have ignored for a long time and now it has become imperative to address the need for awareness in this regard. To achieve this goal, SARD decided to organize a workshop on 2nd December’ 06 about the rights of the child more so in the Indian perspective.
Through this workshop SARD aimed to address the issues related to rights of the children by creating awareness among the various representatives from the education field. This was to ensure that people who are directly involved in the process of children’s education are able to develop a deeper understanding of children’s rights and also ensure that their rights are not violated in any case especially within the school. The resource persons for the workshop were celebrated advocate, Mr. Ashok Agarwal who has been very active in the field of child rights and Mr. Vikram and Mr. Pradeep, from Child Rights and You, CRY.
