Bal Mela
A Bal Mela was organized to celebrate the Children’s day on 14th November’ 06. It was a truly fun filled programme for children enrolled in the SARD learning centres as well as the Nagar Nigam Bal/Balika Prathmik Vidyalaya Mahavir Enclave I, which was the venue for the programme. The chief guest for the event was the administration assistant of Reach India, Ms. Saloni. She was accompanied by Ms. Heera who is senior account officer in Reach IndiaThe programme had various activities for the children including group-drawing, sports activities like spoon race and frog race besides the usual 100 mtrs and 50mtrs race. The children’s fun was increased many folds with the presence of a “long man” and the “dholwala”. An added attraction to all these activities was the presence of various stalls put by some teachers, stakeholders and the students of vocational training classes. The stall offered various things for example fruit chat, sprouts chat, candies, and other eatables. Children thronged the stalls to enjoy all the delicacies.
There was also a signature campaign, where all the children signed their names on a banner and wrote their messages. These activities were followed by a cultural programme where children presented various dances, songs and skit, greatly enjoyed by the audience. There was also a plantation ceremony, facilitated by the Horticulture Department after the cultural programme.
